What means MAROS?

The maritime industry and maritime technologies have a very important and strategic impact for the German industrial location. Their impact to guarantee Germany’s supply with Energy, natural resources and food will continue to grow. The German industry with its well established economic and scientific base developed numerous excellent technical solution for many problems in all business sectors.

The goal of the initiators of the MAROS conference is to increase the presence, the customer perception and the competitive ability for the German maritime industry and national and international markets. By pushing forward the maritime industry the chance to secure and create sophisticated jobs for a strategic important market of the future arises. In the future the focus will be shifted to international markets to achieve a higher market share for the German maritime technology. To reach this goal it will be important to consequently improve the competence and networking of the German maritime technology.

The conference MAROS (Maritime Robotics and Sensors) has been held on a biannual basis since 2011. The German Federal ministry for economics and technology as well as the Gesellschaft für Maritime Technik (GMT) supports it. It is mainly organized by the Fraunhofer IOSB with the support of Pro Tempre International Consultants GmbH and other research organizations.
