Maritime Robotik und Sensorik MAROS, Event in Germany, 12. und 13. Januar 2017
The conference MAROS 2017 continues the work done at the last MAROS in 2015 where several workshops led to a roadmap addressing the following issues in the field of maritime robotics and sensors:
• Sensors and sensor data analysis / management
• Navigation / Communication / Control systems
• Energy supply / Propulsion systems / pressure neutral technology
• Manipulation
The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) initiated 5 workgroups in 2016:
• Ship technology
• Production of maritime systems
• Shipping
• Maritime Technology
• Real time Services and Maritime Security
These workgroups will compile key aspects for the research program "2018 – 2022 Maritime Technologies" and present the results by the end of 2016. Maritime Robotics and sensors as cross-sectional technologies – especially autonomous systems – will be important for all work groups.
The presentation of these results at the MAROS 2017 conference will be the starting point for a process to develop new ideas for promising value chains for German companies in the maritime business. The main goal will be to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to gain access to the international market.
Even companies that are not yet working in the maritime business can profit from these newly found value chains. That’s why the MAROS 2017 conference explicitly addresses companies not working in the maritime business or just as a minor partner. They will be reached through different communication channels as well as several industry associations. As a positive side effect, this inclusion can also lead to novel business ideas and cooperation for well established companies.
